 Family Summary:

We are seeking a career nanny with a teaching background to live their dream life in Sedona while taking care of the sweetest little girl ever! Nannies, The Nanny Joynt is delighted to present this wonderful new full-time job opportunity working for an amazing single dad and his vibrant daughter who is almost 5 years old. She is very sweet, high energy, fearless, kind, active, and loves adventure! Dad is currently in the process of having her full-time and will be making a decision soon on whether she will be attending preschool full or part-time. Ideally, he would love to find a nanny with a teaching background who would be open to homeschooling and helping to educate his amazing daughter long-term. His daughter loves dinosaurs, and Legos and being creative with art projects and fun things each day. If you are familiar with Sedona then you know there are so many opportunities to teach and learn while also being outside in nature! They live in the most beautiful neighborhood and are surrounded by the amazing red rock views on all sides. If you are kind, empathetic, experienced, safety-oriented, and have amazing previous references then please reach out as soon as possible. 

Preferred daily activities would include:

  • Educational activities, reading, singing, creating
  • Outdoor playtime, taking walks, hikes
  • Socialization – arranging play dates with other children in the area or simply taking her to activities that would have other kids around if needed.
  • Creating an engaging story time at home with puppets or props to make it more interactive.
  • Art and crafts – putting together art projects with age-appropriate materials and using The Nanny Joynt Curriculum that is sent out each month. 

Their ideal candidate should have experience with children in this age group and be up to date on all early childhood development for pre-schoolers. A teaching degree would move you to the front of the list for an interview! Creating a curriculum, maintaining social activities, and making sure that she is active and learning each day is a must!  You should have patience and empathy as their family goes through some changes while also being a great role model. It’s also very important that you are reliable and dependable and have a safety-conscious attitude. Dad works from home and would like to be able to check in with the nanny during the day. So their new nanny should be comfortable working as a team when needed. 

This position is offering $28-$40 per hour DOE with guaranteed hours, paid vacation time, paid sick time, paid holidays, and a casita to live in on the property.

The schedule for this position will be: 40 hours per week guaranteed

  • The schedule could be: Monday through Friday 40 hours per week, however, the scheduled hours are not set at this time. 
  • The child may be attending preschool full or part-time, but that has not been determined.
  • Ideally, their new nanny will be open to a flexible schedule until the final schedule can be determined.
  • Family does need their nanny to be flexible to arrive earlier or stay later on occasion. Flexibility is important for this role as there are some days you will need to change your schedule without much notice. 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Childcare Related Responsibilities:

  • All comprehensive child care
  • Making high-quality, balanced meals and snacks, ideally organic
  • Creating weekly curriculum and learning experiences
  • Reading to her and making sure you are focused on her education and development
  • Researching, planning, and doing activities with her each day
  • Engaging with her and making sure she is having fun
  • Help with all things related to the child, organizing, cleaning up
  • Maintaining the child’s areas and ensuring all items are stocked and organized
  • Driving to and from locations as needed

Household-Related Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning up after self and child
  • Load/unload the dishwasher 
  • Taking out the trash/recycling as needed
  • Making sure all child areas are organized/tidy as needed
  • Family laundry and linens, sheets, towels, as needed
  • Packing and unpacking for travel
  • Organizational tasks 
  • Running errands as needed
  • Watering house plants regularly
  • Family meal planning and preparation
  • Household chores as needed
  • Cleaning up before leaving the house each day
  • Helping with other tasks as needed, being proactive
  • The family does have a housekeeper for deep cleaning

Requirements:

  • Previous teaching and or extensive nanny experience
  • A teaching degree would be ideal
  • Experienced, flexible, engaging, highly proactive, and timely
  • Very positive attitude, good role model, fun, enjoyable to be around
  • Ability to take initiative and know what needs to be done
  • Maintaining health and safety in and out of the home at all times 
  • Ability to think quickly and anticipate needs
  • Love of experiencing and teaching new things, being creative
  • Honesty and open communication, speaking up when needed
  • Professional, loyal, loving, hands-on, reliable, patient
  • Being active and able-bodied 

Considerations: 

  • Travel and Overnights: Could be requested at times 
  • Pets – No pets in the home currently
  • Length of commitment – One year to start, ideally very long term
  • COVID-19: This family does not require the Covid Vaccine
