Family Summary:

The Nanny Joynt is super excited to share this amazing new full-time position with a sweet family who spends their summers in Flagstaff! Their adorable 16-month-old daughter is full of energy and needs lots of intellectual stimulation during the day. Plus, they’re expecting a new baby girl in September!

They’re on the lookout for a career nanny with recent experience working with infants. They need someone with a warm, caring personality who takes the initiative to find tasks to complete while the kids are napping. You should be detail-oriented, organized, intelligent, and super safety-conscious. They do prefer a nanny who is physically fit, active, able to carry children up and down stairs, and able to keep up with their children. Their toddler is fearless and high-energy, so she must be supervised at all times. Previous experience caring for two young children is a must! Their new nanny should also be skilled at planning activities for the children at their home as they aren’t comfortable with the nanny driving the children at this time. 

This family does travel, and they want their nanny to join in on the fun! They own a home in Flagstaff where they spend most of the summer, and you’d have your own room and private bathroom there. They also have a home in Cabo San Lucas and occasionally take family vacations to Mexico for up to a week.

Mom and Dad are in and out of the home each day, so you need to be comfortable working with them as a team. They want their nanny to feel comfortable taking care of the children and be a part of the family.

This position is offering $28-$32 per hour with 40 guaranteed hours per week, paid vacation, 6 paid holidays, and 24 hours paid sick time accrued per year

The schedule for this position will be:

• Monday through Friday 10:00am until 6:00pm
• They do require a nanny who can be flexible with their schedule as there will be some days you will be needed to come in earlier or to stay later and some weekend help will also be needed.
• The summer schedule in Flagstaff will be similar and flexible

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Childcare Related Responsibilities:   

• Full comprehensive care of the children – preparing healthy meals, and snacks, cleaning up
• Keeping a log each day for both children, meals, sleep, supplements, etc. 
• Assisting with potty training when the time comes
• Going on outings and fun activities with mom – nanny will not be driving the children at this time
• Making sure children are meeting and exceeding developmental milestones
• Educational activities, reading, crafts, creative play, engaging with the girls
• Planning fun and creative activities at home for the children, no screen time currently
• Help with packing/unpacking for trips
• Maintaining the children’s areas and ensuring all items are stocked and organized

 

Household Related Responsibilities:

• Cleaning up after self and children

• Loading and unloading the dishwasher, dishes
• Family laundry and linens
• Taking out the trash/recycling as needed
• Keeping the home tidy and organized, including organizational projects, and making beds  
• May need to assist with errands and grocery shopping occasionally
• Meal prep occasional cooking for the family
• Light housekeeping – vacuuming, wiping counters, etc. (family has a housekeeper weekly)
• Keeping track of items, stocking, reordering
• Daily mail and package management, unboxing, breaking down
• Cleaning up the toys and children’s areas each day
• Resetting the house before you leave for the day (refilling Baby Brezza, empty diaper pail, etc)

Requirements:

• Ability to anticipate needs, and quick critical thinking
• Being active with the girls and able-bodied – will need to be able to keep up with our high-energy toddler and carry her up/down the stairs daily when in Flagstaff
• Recent verifiable experience working with infants and toddlers at the same time
• Highly proactive, attention to detail, seeing tasks that need to be done and independently completing those tasks
• Energetic, intuitive, reliable, and nurturing
• Positive attitude, and enjoyable to be around
• Travel with the family – Domestic/International – Summers are spent in Flagstaff and seasonal trips to Mexico
• Experienced with young children, engaging, and consistent with the children’s daily schedule
• Ability to take initiative and create activities at home

  Must be comfortable traveling/driving yourself up to Flagstaff

Considerations:

• COVID-19: This family is NOT requiring the Covid Vaccine
• Length of Commitment: 1 year to start, ideally very long term
• Overnights, travel, and weekends will be required to work with this family
• Pets: Two Miniature Poodle/Havanese brothers. They are very affectionate pups and they will need love and attention when Mom is out of the house. Pet care will be needed; feeding, water, washing pet items, letting them in and out, and some pet sitting as well. Nanny should be a dog lover as they are part of their family.
