Overview:
The Nanny Joynt is assisting a warm and caring family seeking immediate short-term support for their newborn. This role is ideal for someone with experience in postpartum care and lactation support, who can offer gentle guidance, emotional support, and hands-on infant care. The family is looking for a calm, kind, reliable, and educated professional to help during this recovery period.

The mother had a challenging delivery, transitioning from vaginal delivery to vacuum assistance and ultimately a C-section. As she recovers, they need someone who understands postpartum healing, infant care, and can provide lactation education to ensure a smooth and supportive transition during this time.

Position Details:

  • Schedule: 5 days per week, 6 hours per day (8:30 AM – 2:30 PM)
  • Term: January 2025 until end of January or February 2025, with possible extension
  • Duration: Short-term, starting immediately 
  • Hourly Rate: $35 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Postpartum Support:
    • Provide gentle care and emotional support for the mother as she recovers from delivery.
    • Assist with understanding and navigating postpartum healing needs.
  • Lactation Guidance:
    • Offer professional support and education with breastfeeding techniques.
    • Help troubleshoot any lactation challenges to ensure a positive breastfeeding experience.
  • Infant Care:
    • Provide nurturing and attentive care for their newborn, ensuring all basic needs are met.
    • Assist with feedings, diaper changes, soothing techniques, and establishing a gentle routine.
  • General Support:
    • Be proactive and encouraging while offering education and reassurance to both parents.
    • Maintain a calm and peaceful presence within the home to support family well-being.

  • Someone reliable, easy-going, and understanding of the recovery process after childbirth.
  • Ability to communicate effectively while offering thoughtful, non-judgmental support.

Requirements:

  • TDAP, MMR, Flu and Covid Vaccines are preferred, but not required, proof of immunizations will be required when interviewing for this position.
  • Experience in infant care, postpartum care and lactation support.
  • Strong knowledge of newborn care and gentle parenting practices.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and supportive environment for the family.
  • A calm, professional demeanor with excellent reliability and punctuality.
