Overview:
A professional, kind, and highly organized client is seeking an experienced Household Manager/Personal Assistant to help maintain her home and support her family’s daily lives. This client is clear, and communicative, and values a candidate who is intuitive, proactive, and takes initiative. She is looking for someone who can manage her household seamlessly, improve processes, and lend a helping hand every day to enhance her quality of life.

The ideal candidate is career-minded, detail-oriented, and highly skilled in household management. You should thrive in a role with minimal direction, possess strong organizational skills, and embrace healthy living focusing on clean, fragrance-free products. The ability to build trust and intuitively understand the client’s needs is essential, as is a commitment to fostering a warm, welcoming home environment.

This family includes an active and caring 12-year-old daughter who may need occasional childcare, including transportation to activities, meal prep, and schedule management. The role also involves basic pet care for the family’s three dogs, three lizards, and a desert tortoise.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Household Management:
    • Maintain a clean and organized home
    • Schedule and oversee contractors, landscapers, house cleaners, and dog groomers
    • Manage household inventory and restock supplies (cleaning products, toilet paper, etc.)
    • Handle decorations, including putting them up and taking them down
    • Schedule and meet with service providers (e.g., soft water unit maintenance, air filter replacement)
    • Run errands (e.g., grocery shopping, dry cleaning, picking up gifts or pet supplies)
    • Keep organized spaces tidy
  • Meal Prep and Kitchen Duties:
    • Plan and prepare meals and snacks during the week
    • Prepare meals for Friday night and weekend snacks
    • Steep coffee and tea as needed
    • Load and unload the dishwasher
  • Laundry and Tidying:
    • Wash and put away towels, sheets, and blankets
    • Put away clothing
    • Perform light cleaning (e.g., sweeping patios, dusting furniture)
  • Pet Care:
    • Walk dogs at least twice a week
    • Provide basic care for lizards and a desert tortoise (e.g., picking up worms)
  • Child-Related Tasks:
    • Transport the 12-year-old daughter to and from activities as needed
    • Help with her schedule, prepare healthy snacks or meals, and check on her grades
    • Assist with childcare during school breaks or as requested
  • Other Tasks:
    • Water plants and trees
    • Fill propane tanks
    • Assist with community-related projects or initiatives
    • Travel planning
    • Packing
    • Volunteer organizing
    • Event support
    • Some basic email work
    • Some basic financial work
    • Managing mail

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Flexibility for occasional overnights or travel may be required

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $32-$35 per hour DOE
  • Benefits: Paid vacation, paid sick time, paid holidays, guaranteed hours, and mileage reimbursement for work-related errands

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in household management or a similar role
  • A reliable vehicle to get to and from work and for errands during work hours
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Understanding of healthy living practices and clean products
  • A proactive, professional, and intuitive approach to household management
