Family Summary:

The Nanny Joynt is happy to share with you this wonderful return family who is seeking a full-time nanny/family assistant to care for their two fun and active boys!  Their oldest son is almost 9 years old. He is so funny, smart, active, sweet, fun-loving, and generally an easy-going kid. He plays basketball, swimming, and is super into the Phoenix Suns and all things sports!  Their younger son is 5.5. He is also very funny, smart, active, sweet, and a bit strong-willed. He also loves basketball, baseball, being on the swings at the park, reading books, doing art, and is into whatever his older brother is into. Both boys are full of energy and the nanny must be active and energetic. Nannies, this family is seeking a nanny who is FUN, and very engaging when they are with the kids! They are seeking a nanny who will help out with household tasks, organizing, driving, running errands, and helping to keep their home running smoothly. You should be organized, responsible, self-driven, a team player, and happy to jump in and help out where needed. Being flexible is very important to this family as they are seeking a nanny who can go with the flow. It’s also very important that you are intuitive and can understand social cues. A nanny who will respect their privacy and use discretion is required. They want their nanny to feel comfortable taking care of the children and household and most importantly feel like part of the family. This family does travel and would need their nanny to travel with them on occasion, however, not often. Overnights will be required when parents travel, date nights, and weekends would also be very helpful as needed. Their most recent nanny was also a Nanny Joynt Nanny and was with them for 2 years, she moved on to pursue another career and really loved working with this family. 

This position will also include driving. Their assistant will need to arrive in the morning on time each day to drive Dad to work in Tempe. You will be using the family car for all errands and daily driving while working. Some days Dad will catch an Uber home or you will need to go back to pick him up. He travels a lot and would like to use this drive time to catch up on work tasks. Once you drop him off at his office you will have several hours of free time before you would need to return to the house to complete household tasks and errands. 

This position is offering $30 per hour with guaranteed hours, paid vacation, paid holidays, and paid sick time. Use of the family car. One month off paid in the summer while the family is in Flagstaff. 

The schedule for this position will be: 40 hours guaranteed each week

• Monday through Friday 7:30am until 8:30am and 12:30 until 6:30pm (7 hours each day)
• Flexibility is very important – Family is really good at giving advance notice if needed to switch things around. Occasionally could be a shift in hours for date nights etc.
• They do have some flexibility and may be open to offering M-F 12:30 until 6:00pm for the right candidate.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Childcare Related Responsibilities:   

• Full comprehensive care of the children –  meals, snacks, cleaning up
• Breakfast, packing lunches, snacks
• Coming up with and planning things to do with the kids
• Educational activities, crafts, sports, play, super engaging
• Help with some pickup and drop off of the kids will be needed
• Outings and activities are highly encouraged 
• Traveling/Driving up to Flagstaff, driving the kids if needed 
• Help with packing/unpacking for trips
• Maintaining the children’s areas and ensuring all items are stocked and organized

 

Household-Related Responsibilities:

• Cleaning up after self and children
• Loading and unloading the dishwasher, dishes
• Family laundry/linens, ironing
• Taking out the trash/recycling as needed
• Keeping home tidy and organized, organizational projects  
• Making beds
• Meal planning and prep will be needed
• Light housekeeping
• Cleaning up the toys and child areas each day
• Coffee prep
• Driving Dad to and from work as needed

Requirements:

• Flexibility when working with this family is imperative

• Some travel with the family – Domestic and International 2 – 5 weeks per year, 2 weeks at a time max  
• Experienced with children, engaging, proactive, consistent, intuitive

Considerations:  

• COVID-19: This family does NOT require the Covid Vaccine. 
• Length of Commitment: 1 year to start, long-term would be ideal
• Overnights will be needed when parents travel
• Travel, weekends and date nights will be needed on occasion
• Pets: No pets in the home
