Family Summary:

The Nanny Joynt is delighted to be working with this wonderful family seeking a positive and loving nanny/household manager for their two children. They have a very intelligent 9-year-old son who is passionate about sports and music and a spirited 5.5-year-old daughter who loves dance, gymnastics, and being active. This family values a caregiver who can act as an extension of themselves, setting clear expectations and fostering responsibility in a nurturing and engaging manner. You should be willing and able to engage with the kids, and you should also be a nanny who will enjoy playing with them at the park or creating fun activities to do with them. Both children are gifted and need a nanny who is firm, yet kind and nurturing.

Both parents are actively involved and hands-on with their children. Dad works full-time from his home office, while Mom spends most of her time working outside the home. Their children are well-behaved, smart, funny, creative, and full of fun. The family views their caregiver as an essential part of their household, maintaining close relationships with their previous caregivers. Their former nanny spoke Spanish to the children, and they would love to find a new nanny who can continue this tradition.

They need a candidate who is very proactive, and intuitive and can help them manage their daily lives around their home and children! This family does have a Kosher household so a nanny/household manager who has experience with this would be ideal. The family is willing to train and teach their nanny about keeping Kosher. You should be able to commit to helping with homework, and school projects, and helping them manage their time and tasks. You will be responsible for school pick up and taking them to any activities after school. The kids are great and easygoing most of the time, but sometimes they love to have planned activities and playtime with their care provider. The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-starter, someone who can jump in and know how to manage the home and daily tasks. Reliability is very important, so someone who is always on time and manages their time well.  Both parents are very involved and care about the people in their lives, they want their nanny/household manager to feel welcome and happy!  They would love to find an active, reliable household manager/nanny who has experience in this role and is seeking a long-term position with a wonderful family!

This position is offering $28 – $35 per hour DOE with guaranteed hours (40 hours each week), PTO (24 hours per year), vacation time after 6 months, and paid holidays.

The schedule for this position will be:

• Monday through Friday: 12 PM until 7 PM with 5 additional hours (total 40 hrs/week) You will need to be flexible with the 5 additional hours offered. 
• Flexibility: Required to come early or stay late depending on school schedule, with notice given in advance.
• Additional Hours: Potential weekend hours are available if the nanny would like to earn additional income
• Overnights: Some possible overnights, especially when parents travel

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Childcare Related Responsibilities:

• Pick up children from school
• Transport to after-school activities
• Help with homework
• Engage in active and creative play
• Preparing healthy meals and snacks each day
• Bath/shower, bedtime routines
• Enforce household rules: no screen time during the week, consistent mealtimes and bedtimes, having children complete chores
• Communicate effectively with the children, ensuring they understand the expectations and consequences
• Helping children to keep back-packs and school items organized
• Packing healthy lunches each day

• Playing with the children, reading to them, and being active with them by creating fun and exciting activities for them
• Maintaining the children’s areas and ensuring all items are stocked and organized each day

Household Related Responsibilities:

• Cleaning up after self and children
• Light cleaning and general maintenance around the home
• Load/unload the dishwasher
• Taking out the trash/recycling
• Making sure all areas are organized/tidy and clean
• Meal preparation, cooking for the family
• Family laundry, linens, etc.
• Errands, grocery store, Target, receiving packages
• Greeting contractors for scheduled maintenance
• General ability to see what needs to be done and complete those tasks
• Other tasks as needed
• The family does have a housekeeper who does deep cleaning 2 x’s per week

Requirements:

• Experienced, highly proactive, reliable, and timely
• Spanish speaking nanny is preferred
• ​​Minimum of 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Household management experience, preferably 2+ years
• High energy, engaging, and proactive
• Able to anticipate needs and multitask effectively
• Creative and fun, able to plan and execute engaging activities
• Flexible with schedule adjustments
• Adherence to household rules and routines
• Firm but loving discipline approach

Vaccines: Prefer their nanny to have the Covid and Flu vaccines, but not required.

Considerations: 

• Pets – No pets in the home
• Some overnights will be needed when parents travel
• Length of commitment – One year to start, ideally long-term
