About the Family:
This is a calm and understanding family eagerly anticipating the arrival of their newborn in March 2025. They are seeking a knowledgeable and gentle Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) to provide nighttime support as they adjust to life with their new baby. The family values calmness, high attention to detail, and the ability to offer gentle support, particularly to parents who may feel a bit anxious during this time. They also have a sweet baby girl who will be about 16 months old when her sibling arrives. No care will be needed for her during this time. 

  • Pets: Two indoor mixed-breed dogs, weighing approximately 20 and 30 lbs. The dogs will be kenneled each night in the parent’s room. 

Job Highlights:

  • Schedule: 4-5 nights a week, 8:30pm until 6:30am for 10-12 weeks
  • Pay Rate: $35-$45 per hour DOE
  • Environment: The NCS will have their own space in the baby’s room with a comfy bed.
  • Duties: Nighttime care for the baby, including diaper changes, soothing, and night feeds.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide full nighttime care for the newborn, including all diaper changes and soothing the baby back to sleep.
  • All night feedings
  • Offer gentle support and education to the family, helping them navigate the early days with their new little one with confidence.
  • Provide any additional help around the house during the evening, as needed.
  • Maintain a calm and understanding demeanor, creating a peaceful environment for the baby and family.
  • Making sure the parents are set for the morning duties at the end of your shift.

Requirements and Considerations:
Applicants must meet all job requirements to apply:

  • Proven experience as a Newborn Care Specialist, especially with families who may be a little anxious. A Newborn Care Certificate is REQUIRED.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to provide gentle, supportive care.
  • Educated and capable of teaching the family everything they need to know about newborn care.
  • Comfortable with pets, as the family has two indoor dogs.
  • Ability to maintain a calm and nurturing environment throughout the night.
